Planning For The Future
Following a 10-year period of flat enrollment, the Paulding County School District is once again seeing pockets of growth, particularly in the northeast quadrant of the county. This growth is in the early stages of impacting enrollment at local schools. To assess the current growth patterns as well as the most efficient and effective utilization of classroom space at schools across the county, the school district engaged Education Planners, LLC, to conduct an enrollment and classroom utilization study.
At this time, the school district has made no decisions nor developed any proposals to address the long-term capacity needs of its schools. The recently completed enrollment and capacity utilization study is the first step to assess the environment. The school district must also consider renewal of the current SPLOST program that expires at the end of March 2021. SPLOST is a one-cent sales tax approved by voters that provides funding for capital projects at schools. The process of developing specific plans for individual schools, as well as identifying the funding that will be needed, will be an extensive process that involves substantial community input and stakeholder participation. If you are interested in this process, please continue to monitor this web site for future updates.
