  • Red Ribbon Week 2017

    Theme: “Your Future is Key, So Stay Bully & Drug Free”

    October 23-October 27, 2017

     Monday       10/23 “I’m "RED"Y to Be Drug Free” Wear red.

                                                                             

    Tuesday       10/24 “Emojin The Possibilities for Your Life Without Drugs ” Wear emoji gear.

                                       

    Wednesday 10/25 “My Future is Key, Bully & Drug Free” Dress as what you want to be when you grow up or wear your favorite college shirt.

     

    Thursday    10/26 “Be a H.E.R.O.: Help Encourage & Respect Others” Wear camouflage and/or dress as one of the branches of the military.  NO toy weapons of any type!

     

    Friday          10/27   “Our School Has the Heart & Spirit To Be Bully & Drug FreeWear purple/gold or your favorite Hiram Hornet spiritwear.

     

     Poster & Essay Contests

    Theme: "Your Future is Key, So Stay Bully & Drug Free"

    • Each entry must include the student’s name, grade, & teacher on the back of their poster or essay.
    • Categories will be divided among grade levels, K-2 and 3-5. All posters and essays are due to Ms. Ford by Wednesday, October 25, 2017.
    • Judging will be based on the following:
      • Closeness to the theme
      • Neatness
      • Originality/Creativity
      • Student's own work

  • Literature Character Pumpkins

    Students decorate pumpkins to look like their favorite book character and bring it to the media center.  Students may use real pumpkins or plastic pumpkins.  They will be judged on creativity, effort, and visual appeal.  Pumpkins must be turned in by Tuesday, October 24.  Judging will be done that day.  Winners will be announced over morning announcements.
