The Paulding County School District Human Resources Department is accepting nominations for the 2023 PCSD Employee of the Year Program.
This program highlights the contributions of non-teaching school employees who support the education of our students in preschool through grade 12. The overall purpose of the program is to pay tribute to the tireless efforts of our District’s outstanding school employees who are not eligible for recognition as a Teacher of the Year (TOTY). These employees are vital staff members who play key roles in creating a district and school environment that promotes our District’s vision and mission.
The program goals are to:
• Identify and honor exemplary employees throughout the District.
• Select seven 2023 PCSD Employee of the Year award recipients.
One award winner will be chosen from each of the following staff categories:
• School Nutrition
• Maintenance, Operations, Custodial Services and Facilities
• School Support Services
• School Instructional Support
• District Support Services
• Transportation
• School Leadership
The award winners will be honored on April 18, 2023.Nominations are accepted through March 1, 2023.
Eligibility Criteria
Nominees must be a current employee of the Paulding County School District. Please refer to the Eligibility Criteria for more details.

Eligibility information for the PCSD Employee of the Year Program.
Minimum Qualifications
Eligibility for the 2023 PCSD Employee of the Year Program is limited to candidates who meet the following minimum criteria:
- Current non-teaching employee of the PCSD. (Candidate cannot be eligible for consideration as a TOTY.)
- Minimum of three years of service in the nomination category.

Nomination Categories
Nominations will be accepted for staff in the following seven categories:
School Nutrition
The work of this candidate must be related to food handling and/or preparation.
Maintenance, Operations, Custodial Services and Facilities
The work of this candidate must be directly related to maintenance services or operations services.
- Examples: HVAC technician, carpenter, groundskeeper, plumber, etc.
School Support Services
The work of this candidate must be directly related to school clerical, secretarial, school nurse, or safety and security duties.
- Examples: bookkeeper, local school technologist, school nurse, secretary, attendance clerk, security guard, etc.
School Instructional Support
The work of this candidate must provide instructional services to students.
- Examples: paraprofessional, media clerk, hearing and vision, occupational therapist, physical therapist, school counselor, etc.
District Support Services
The work of this candidate must provide support services from the District offices.
- Examples: District office secretaries, clerks, specialists, coordinators, psychologists, etc.
Transportation
The work of this candidate must be directly related to student transportation.
- Examples: bus driver, dispatcher, mechanic, monitor, trainer, etc.
School Leadership
The work of this candidate must provide leadership and support at a local school.
- Examples: principal, assistant principal, evaluation and assessment coordinators.

February 7 – March 1 Nomination Forms will be accepted electronically
March 9 Committee will determine Award Recipients
March 10 Award Recipients will be notified
April 18, 2023 Award Recipients will be recognized at the Teacher of the Year CelebrationThe deadline for submissions is March 1st.

Nomination & Selection Process
Selection
The selection process begins with candidates whose names are submitted electronically and consists of two phases:
Phase I - Review of Nominations
To evaluate the nominations, the selection committee may consist of district administrators, select Partners in Education, and retired PCSD administrators. The committee will evaluate all nominations within the context of the selection criteria, which is organized around three themes:
- Work Performance
- School Community Involvement
- Leadership and Commitment
The selection committee will recommend an award recipient for each category.
The committee’s decision will be final in each category.
Human Resources will coordinate the process but will not be part of the selection committee.Phase II - Selection of Award Winners
The Human Resources Department will announce and notify the award recipients. There will be one award recipient in each category.
