Dual Enrollment: Earn College Credit While Still in High School
What Is Dual Enrollment?
Dual enrollment allows high school students to take college-level courses and earn both high school and college credit at the same time. These courses are offered through partnerships between high schools and accredited colleges or universities, giving students a head start on their post-secondary education.
Students can take courses on their high school campus, at a college campus, or online — depending on the program and institution.
How Does It Work?
Students enroll in approved college courses while still in high school. These courses count toward their high school graduation requirements and their future college degree. Dual enrollment is often available to juniors and seniors who meet eligibility criteria, such as GPA or standardized test scores.
It’s important to check with your school counselor for specific requirements and opportunities.
