  • Belief and Commitment

    The Paulding County School District’s Strategic Goal for Innovative Practices and Resource Implementation guides our commitment to continuous improvement in teaching and learning. Aligned with the performance objective to develop and advance resources to inspire a culture of innovation, the district is dedicated to providing educators with access to high-quality, standards-aligned instructional materials that foster creativity, collaboration, and equitable learning opportunities for all students.

    In alignment with Georgia Board of Education Rule 160-4-4-.10,  the district maintains a transparent process for selecting, reviewing, and recommending instructional materials used in state-funded courses. This process includes:

    • Teacher and administrator review committees for each subject area.
    • Parent and community input opportunities before adoption.
    • Annual updates and public posting of all locally approved instructional materials and content on the district website.
    • Ensuring a balance of print and digital resources that support instruction in the classroom and learning at home.

    English Language Arts (K-12)

    • K-5: Bookworms Reading and Writing (Open Up Resources®) and UFLI Foundations (Ventris Learning) for phonics instruction
    • 6-12: myPerspectives English Language Arts (Savvas Learning Company®) for middle and high school ELA and literature courses

    Mathematics (K-12)

    • K-12: Illustrative Mathematics (Imagine Learning) as the primary digital and print resource for mathematics instruction across all grade bands, supporting the Georgia Standards of Excellence
    • High School Advanced Courses: Pre-Calculus with Limits (McDougal Littell), Calculus for the AP Course (Cengage/Bedford Freeman Worth), and The Practice of Statistics (Bedford Freeman Worth)

    Science (K-12)

    • K-5: Discovery Education Experience digital science curriculum
    • 6-12: Inspire Science series (McGraw Hill) for Earth, Life, and Physical Sciences, and Environmental Science: Sustaining Your World (Cengage) for high school environmental science
    • Advanced/AP Courses: Biology for the AP Course (Bedford, Freeman & Worth), Chemistry: The Central Science (Pearson), and College Physics: A Strategic Approach (Pearson)

    Social Studies & World Languages (6-12)

    • Middle School: Gallopade Georgia Experience (Grades 6-7) and The Georgia Journey (Gibbs Smith Education®) for Georgia History
    • High School: Patterns and Interactions (Holt McDougal), Our Democracy (McGraw Hill®), and Fabric of a Nation (Bedford Freeman & Worth) for U.S. History and Government.
    • World Languages: Encuentros (Vista Higher Learning) for Spanish and Chemins (Vista Higher Learning) for French

    Career, Technical, and Agricultural Education (CTAE, 6-12)

    • A broad range of programs including Goodheart-Willcox (Engineering, Health Science, Marketing, and Mechatronics), Cengage (Business and Finance), Savvas (Culinary and Audio/Video), and iCEV Multimedia (Agricultural Science)
    • Specialized digital resources such as CodeHS, CompuScholar, MBA Learning Center, and Electude provide access to cutting-edge career-pathway materials.

     Transparency and Access

    All instructional materials used in Paulding County Schools are:

    • Publicly posted on the district website in compliance with O.C.G.A. § 20-2-1017(d).
    • Available for review at each school and at the district office upon request.
    • Supported by a designated contact person for inquiries regarding instructional resources and public review opportunities.
