Math K-5 DLD Resources
-
I am including standards that are important to the progression of your grade levels. Please know you are welcome to assign any of your grade level standards. The ones I am including seem like priority standards in the progression of Mathematics. Please remember LearnZillion is a great resource for these standards. Please be mindful of the time it would take a student to complete assignments.
Kindergarten: OA1 & OA2 – Solve real-world problems by adding and subtracting within 10 and explain the strategy used. OA5- Fluently adds and subtracts within 5. Activities around five(ness) are very important. Use of the 100s chart activities are also very vital.
First: OA1 – Solve problems with addition and subtraction within 20 OA6 – Add and subtract within 20 using strategies & fluently add and subtract within 10. NBT4 – Add numbers to 100. NBT 5- Uses ten more and ten less strategy. Activities around ten(ness) are very important.
Second: OA 2 – Fluently adds and subtracts within 20 using mental strategies. OA 1- Solves one and two – step word problems. NBT 6 – Add up to four two-digit numbers. NBT 7 – Adds and subtracts within 1000 using models, drawings and strategies. Activities around twenty(ness) are very important.
Third: OA1&OA2 Interprets products and quotients using strategies. OA3- solves multiplication and division word problems within 100. OA8 – Solves two-step word problems using addition, subtraction, multiplication and division with a letter for the unknown. NF1,2 or 3 that you have already taught in regards to fractions.
Fourth: NF1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 or 7. The fraction standards are very important for fourth grade. I would focus on NF1 – equivalent fractions using models. NF2 – compare fractions with different numerators and denominators (denominators only being 2,3,4,5,6,8,10,12,& 100). NF3 - Adds and subtracts fractions by decomposing with common denominators. NF4 – Multiplies fractions by a whole number. NF5, 6 & 7 if you have already taught this in class prior to March 16th.
Fifth: NF 1,2, 3, 4, 6, & 7. NF 1 & 2 -solve word problems by adding and subtracting fractions and mixed numbers with unlike denominators. NF 3 – Interpret a fraction as division and solve problems. NF 4 & 6 – Solve word problems by multiplying fractions using visual models (multiply a fraction or whole number by a fraction and mixed numbers). I would only do this one if you have already taught it in class. NF 7 – only if you have already taught this in class.
