STAR students and teachers from each Paulding County high school were recognized at the May 9, 2023 Board of Education meeting. STAR,
or Student-Teacher Achievement Recognition, is an annual program hosted by the Paulding County Chamber of Commerce and Members First
Credit Union to honor the senior student(s) at each PCSD high school with the highest SAT score who also finish in the top 10 percent of their
class based on grade point average. The students select a teacher who has been instrumental in their academic development to be their STAR
teacher. William Booker of North Paulding High School was named the district STAR student for 2023 as the student with the highest SAT score
in the Paulding County School District. Sandy Gamble and Shelba Bone represented the Paulding Chamber of Commerce, and Kim Fletcher and
Angie Holland represented Members First Credit Union.
