Parapro/Substitute/Supply Teacher Training
NOTICE: We are no longer activating sub teachers for this school year (2019-2020). We will begin activating sub teachers again in September 2020.
Please email Tracey McDaniel in late August 2020 if you want to be activated as a sub teacher for the 2020-2021 school year and she will send you more information at that time.
To become a substitute teacher with the Paulding County School District, please complete an application and a substitute training class. For a substitute training class, please visit the Northwest Georgia RESA website at www.nwgaresa.com to register. Upon completion of the training class, please email the certificate to firstname.lastname@example.org. If you hold a current Georgia teaching certificate, please first complete your application and then email email@example.com. Official transcripts will be required as proof of the highest level of education.
For information on how to become a Paraprofessional or Certified Teacher, please visit the Georgia Professional Standards Commission website at www.gapsc.com for the requirements, steps and documentation for certification.
The Paulding County School District does not offer the paraprofessional examination for certification. Please go to the GACE website at www.gace.ets.org for information regarding testing dates, times and sites for the paraprofessional exam plus content area exams for teacher certification.
If you have additional questions, please feel free to contact Tracey McDaniel at firstname.lastname@example.org in the Human Resources Department.
