• My name is Deanna Billing, and I am so excited to be here at East Paulding High School.  I am one of the interrelated teachers here, so I co-teach with Mr. Ford, our Cross Country and Track Coach where we teach students in Foundations and Algebra I. This is my 16th year teacher and my 8th year in Special Education.  The teachers, faculty, staff, and students at EPHS are truly AWESOME.

My path to teaching is a bit non-traditional.  I earned a Bachelor of Business Administration and used to work in the Trade Show Exhibit industry.  After the tragic events of September 11, 2001, I was laid off from my job and like many people began questioning whether or not I was doing what I loved or if I was doing today simply what I was doing yesterday.  During this time, I began tutoring my nephew who was in the 5th grade.  I loved all of those "lightbulb" moments he experienced, so I decided to pursue a career in education.  I entered a teacher certification program and two years later I was a certified teacher.  I went back to school several years ago and earned my Masters in Teaching and Learning and two years ago, I earned my Specialists Degree in Curriculum and Instruction.  I absolutely love being a teacher and can't imagine myself doing anything else.

I have two daughters as well.  McLaren, my older daughter, is in the 10th grade and attends EPHS, and my younger daughter, Trew, is in the 8th grade at McClure Middle.  We love going to the beach in the summer and to the mountains in the winter.  We also love going on cruises.
