Welcome to my Classroom
Hello, and welcome to the fascinating world of the social sciences!
My name is Mrs. Quarles. To tell you a little about myself, I transfered my teaching certificate to Georgia since my husband's career brought us to the Atlanta Metro area for a job opportunity. I have taught here at SPHS since 2016 and I love my Spartan family! I earned my bachelor degree from Mercer University and my masters degree from JSU. I am currently working on my Specialist certification at KSU and will continue towards my doctorate in Instructional Technology over the next two years. I am happily married, and have two wonderful children. I live on a farm in Douglasville with my husband, daughter, our NINE dogs, and one cat. No, I am not crazy, but I do love animal rescue. It is another passion in my life along with teaching.I invite you to visit this website regularly to find out about what is going on inside the classroom, any upcoming assignments or exams, and resources for you and your student. I want you to be as actively involved in your child's education as possible.
I believe that education is the most important gift anyone can bestow on another. I plan to support students in their learning in my classroom and to encourage them to learn in their other classrooms. While all academic subjects combined are necessary to help students be well-rounded individuals, I feel like my role as a social science teacher is of the utmost importance.
The social sciences are an integral part of a student's education and are also relevant to all other subjects and many aspects of a student's life. Through learning in my classroom, students will not only be able to master the content standards, but they will also develop analytical skills and be able to better understand the world around them, the impact they can have on the future, and society as a whole.
Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions or concerns. I am always just an e-mail or phone call away.
Let's have a great school year!
