Welcome to SPHS!!

 

I am a returning teacher to SPHS. I work with a focus on preparing your child for life after high school. Our assignments are based on Extended State Standards and around making daily decisions and life choices. My classroom philosophy is based on "We believe in..." giving second chances, never giving up, encouraging one another, and making a difference every day. I have years of experience working with individuals with special needs, especially in the areas of Autism, Mild Intellectually Delayed, and Severe/Profound Multiple Disabilities.

We plan one field trip annually. This lesson offers students the opportunity to work on social skills in the community and gain knowledge of Standards outside a classroom setting. We also have multiple Community Based Instruction (CBI) trips annually.

 

We have an outdoor classroom/Gazebo and garden area to work on environmental science and reading curriculum.

 

I am the sponsor for Relay for Life of Paulding County for South Paulding High School and our school sponsor for Autism Awareness and Down Syndrome Awareness.
