    Hello!
    My name is Chelsey Welch. I am a proud graduate of Hiram High School. The University of Alabama is where I earned my undergraduate degree (Roll Tide!) in Secondary Education and History, with a minor in Computer Technology; and where I was also a member of the drumline in the Million Dollar Marching Band. 
     
    Within the past several years, I have earned my Masters Degree in Middle Grades Social Studies, and my Specialist Degree in Curriculum Instruction and Design from Piedmont College. Austin Middle School has been my home for 7 years - 2 years in 7th Grade Social Studies and ELA, 5 years in 8th Grade Social Studies.

    Upon searching for a teaching position in 2013, I found myself working in the county that I was raised, for which I am truly blessed!
     
    Teaching social studies (history) is my passion and I am so thankful that I work at Austin Middle School, surrounded by so many positive co-workers and students! If you have any questions or concerns throughout the year, please e-mail me and I will respond to you as quickly as I can. Despite the unprecedented times, I am looking forward to a great year of learning and growth!!
