Austin Middle

My name is Christy Cantrell-Herrier.  (You can call me Mrs. Herrier).

Fall 2020 will begin my 12th year at Austin Middle School!  Computer Science Class (Foundations of Interactive Design) is taking on a new set of standards and coursework this year!  We will be focusing on web page design and game design, in addition to team building skills, problem solving skills, etc.  

I have taught in Paulding County for 21 years. I attended Paulding County Schools and graduated from Paulding County High School.  I received a Bachelor of Business Administration from Kennesaw State,  and have earned my EdS in Curriculum Design and Instruction from Jacksonville State.  

I am married to Shawn Herrier.  I have a daughter, Katie, who is a 6th grade Math teacher in Effingham County, and a stepdaughter, Kendra, who is turning twelve and going into sixth grade.  

In addition to teaching, I love the beach, my parents’ lake home, spending time with family and friends, coffee, reading, writing, and of course, computers!
