    Mr. Jon Brown is the band director at Austin Middle School. Mr. Brown came to Austin by way of P.B. Ritch Middle School where he was the chorus director for two years. Mr. Brown is a lifelong resident of Paulding County. He attended Jacksonville State University where he received his Bachelor of Arts in Music Education degree and he attended The University of West Georgia where he recieved a Masters of Music Education degree. While in college, Mr. Brown was the baritone section leader of The Marching Southerners and principal chair trombone in the Chamber Winds, JSU’s top wind ensemble.  He was also involved in the basketball pep band, fall opera, spring musical, and jazz band. Mr. Brown has traveled all over the United States playing music with The Cavaliers Drum and Bugle Corps.  Throughout Georgia and Alabama, Mr. Brown teaches clinics and marching band to students of all ages and works closely with the Spirit of South Paulding Marching Band at South Paulding High School. Mr. Brown also judges Governors Honors candidates at the state level and plays trombone locally in various concerts and church musicals. Mr. Brown is a member of the Georgia Music Educator's Association and the National Association of Music Educators.
