The Rotary of Paulding County is offering a $3,000 scholarship to a Paulding County School District senior. Electronic copies of the application are available to download in the announcement section of the Patriot Post and the Scholarship page of the PCHS website. Hard copies are also available in the counseling office. Completed applications can be turned into your counselor. Applications must be submitted by March 29th.
Attention Seniors: On Tuesday, March 19th we will have our next Senior Meeting during 2nd block in the auditorium that will focus on graduation. You will report to your 2nd block class and wait to be called down by your assignment after announcements. If you have any questions, please see Ms. DJM.
Attention Students! Yearbooks are still on sale, but they are going fast! Secure yours before it’s too late! Last year we sold out and are expected to again this year. The cost is $88, and you can order from the Jostens website, or you can scan the QR code outside of Room 211. If you have any questions, see Mr. Young.
Get a head start on spring cleaning and drop off any old or unwanted clothes to Mrs. Roberts in room 215 for a clothing drive hosted by Girls United! All donations will go to a local battered women and children’s shelter.
Attention all current Sophomore and Juniors: Are you interested in being able to leave school, go to work and get high school credit? If so, then Work-Based learning might be for you. Registration is now open with morning or afternoon blocks available. You will need a job by August 1 and will need reliable transportation. See Mrs. Parker in room 820 for more information.
Congratulations to our Literary team, who made a strong showing at Region competition on Friday! Lily Gregory placed 2nd in Extemporaneous Speaking: Domestic; FJ Chua and Bryle Wood placed 3rd in Dramatic Interpretation: Duo; Margaret Anyanwu placed 4th in Personal Essay; Parker Townsend placed 2nd in Argument Essay; and Cassidy Fishman placed 2nd in Literary Analysis Essay. Great job!
The PCHS Gay-Straight Alliance will meet this Friday, March 15, at 3:35 in room 804. If you are a member or supporter of the LGBTQ+ community, please come see what GSA is all about! We look forward to seeing you there!
Softball will have an interest meeting for all those interested in trying out for softball for the 2024-2025 school year. The meeting will be Thursday March 21st in Room 104 at 8:10 AM. We will go over upcoming dates for conditioning and discuss important information regarding tryouts. If you have any questions, please reach out to Coach Murphy, Coach Stamper, or Coach Horan. Look forward to seeing you there.
Congratulations to the JROTC Drill Team. Over the weekend they defeated 11 other area schools and qualified to represent PCHS at the State drill meet. Amanshire Nat, and Joseph Quezada placed first in the boys Squad Drills. Brianna Legg placed 3rd, and Kaili Parker placed 4th in the girl's squad drills. And Joseph Quezada and Joshua Griffith placed 3rd in Platoon drills. Hunter Owens and Jaxon Collins placed 1st, and Joshua Griffith and Brendan Sexton placed 3rd in Dual Exhibition. Jason Collins placed 1st, and Brendon Sexton placed 3rd in the Individual Exhibition. Good luck to the entire team as they prepare to compete at State in Lagrange GA in a couple of weeks.
