• HES  Welcome to Mrs. B. and Mrs. Mack's  Pre-K Class!

Hi, my name is Beth Gandy, and I have been teaching in Paulding County School District for 25 years. I teach the half-day Special Needs Preschool class at Hiram Elementary School, and my personal mission is to help our students become as engaged and independent as possible, all while learning and working in a positive environment.

I grew up in Polk County, GA. and graduated from Rockmart High School in 1992. I graduated with a degree in Special Education from the University of West Georgia, and I am also certified in Early Childhood Education and Special Needs Pre-K. I have taught students with severe and profound intelllectual disabilities in my career, as well as special needs preschool students. I believe a constant willingness and eagerness to continue learning is key in the field of education.

I feel that teamwork is vital among the teachers, parents, therapists, and administrators involved in our students' individual educational plans. Our class paraprofessional is an important part of the daily operation of our classroom. Her name is Jessica Mack, and she brings years of experience as a parent and as an employee of Paulding County Schools to our class family. Her creative ideas, patience, organization, and love of the students are a wonderful part of our pre-k team!

I am married and have three children, ages 17, 15, and 13. They are all students here in Paulding County Schools. We enjoy marching band events, movie nights, baking, road trips, and Disney!

  • Another amazing school year is in the books, and we had so much fun celebrating (and eating sundaes!) with our kiddos. We will miss our kindergarten-bound friends, but we're so proud of the progress they have made and wish them all the best! A huge thanks to our rock star parents for their support throughout the year, and we are excited for the upcoming 2021-22 school year with our returning pre-k'ers!
