The mission of the North Paulding Astronomy Club is to provide a safe environment and resources for students at North Paulding High School to explore and develop their interest in astronomy. As a member of the astronomy club, you will have access to the club's telescopes and be invited to participate in monthly after school meetings to learn about astronomy as well as plan for night sky star parties. Star parties are held off campus at night and are often strategically held to current events taking place in the night sky. Students have the opportunity to complete observing programs sponsored by the Astronomical League. Parents are also encouraged to participate in any start party events held after dark. All skill levels are welcome to participate. Presently, the club will meeting virtually on Zoom. We hope to transition to in person after school meetings when guidance from the Center for Disease Control and the Paulding Board of Education permits us to do so. Please contact Mr. Schmidt through e-mail at or stop by room 1108 if you are interested in joining. There is an application process and you must be an official member in order to attend club events after school.
