"WHEREVER I AM, IF I HAVE A BOOK WITH ME, I HAVE A PLACE I CAN GO AND BE HAPPY."

     - J. K. ROWLING

I am a native New Yorker (Long Island), but have lived in the metro Atlanta area since 1994. Prior to moving to the Peach State, I spent eight years in California, followed by three years in Illinois. When my children were approaching college age, it was time for me to fulfill a lifelong dream. I began taking classes at Kennesaw State University and graduated in 2012 with a Bachelor of Science in English Education. I don't know who was more excited on that day, me or my kids! Even though I am an Owl, I am also a very loyal Georgia Bulldog fan. GO DAWGS!!!!

I am looking forward to my seventh year with my exceptional students. They make every day brighter with their eagerness to learn. There are few things I enjoy more than inspiring them to embrace reading, grow as writers, and explore the world around them through literature.

When I'm not teaching, I can be found at a rock concert (Springsteen 31 times!), pounding the pavement while walking for fitness, or reading on my back deck. A few of my favorite authors are David Baldacci, John Grisham, Dan Brown, and James Patterson. As you might have guessed, I enjoy a good suspense novel - especially when relaxing at the beach or pool. I also love spending time and traveling with my grown daughters.
