Hutchens' Title I Program

  • Hutchens Logo

Title I is a part of the No Child Left Behind Act of 2001 (NCLB). This act provides federal funds through the Georgia Department of Education to school districts and public schools with high numbers or percentages of poverty to help ensure that all children meet academic achievement standards.

School districts target the Title I funds they receive for public schools with the highest percentage of children from low-income families.

The Title I program’s focus is on improving student achievement and supporting parental involvement.  In Paulding County, Title I schools employ Title I Instructional Lead Teachers and Title I Teachers to support teaching, learning, and parent involvement through supplemental reading, language arts, and math instruction, professional learning for teachers, parent involvement opportunities, and parent resource centers.

Special thanks to Karen Woodlief with Get Paulding Reading for presenting an extremely informative parent workshop about read aloud books. It is critically important that we continue to develop the love of reading at home with those closest to us. Each family who participated in this K-2 grade event received a bag of nine brand new, exciting books to share with their family!  For more information, please check out our Title I: Parent Meeting Resources page by clicking here
