Dear Parents and Students,

As a teacher at Abney Elementary, I am delighted to welcome your child to my fifth-grade class.  I hope that you and your child had an enjoyable summer break and that you are looking forward to the adventure that is fifth grade.

As your child’s teacher, it is my goal to ensure that your child’s fifth grade experience is filled with opportunities for personal growth.  As your child develops, he/she will acquire learning skills that will assist them throughout life.  Within our fifth-grade classroom, students will develop skills in the content area as well as in social skills that will help them transition successfully to the middle school.

You will find that the materials on my "Weebly" website will change with the content that students are learning.  Click on the tabs located at the top of my "Weebly" webpage to find the fifth-grade supply list as well as other information that you and your child will find useful. This will help when purchasing needed supplies for your child, as well as give you a glimpse into some of the content we will be studying.
 
This year I am excited about our curriculum structure and excited to be back in the classroom with students. Covid-19 has caused stress for us all, but know, I will be working hard to ensure that your child has a safe, happy, and productive learning environment.
