PCSD Receives Outstanding Budget Recognition
The Paulding County School District is being recognized for excellence in budget presentation for the fourth year in a row.
The Association of School Business Officials International (ASBO) has presented the district with another Meritorious Budget Award (MBA) for the fiscal year 2022-2023. PCSD has been participating in the MBA program for four years, which shows how committed the district is to fiscal integrity.
Chief Financial Officer, Miriam Hall says, “PCSD strives to maintain clear and open communication with all stakeholders regarding the budget process and initiatives. Receiving this award serves as validation that our efforts meet the high standards set by ASBO. It is our goal that all stakeholders have the opportunity to be engaged in the budget process and are kept well informed.”
ASBO International’s MBA and introductory Pathway to the MBA programs promote and recognize excellence in school budget presentation. Program participation enhances school business officials’ skills in developing, analyzing, and presenting a school system budget. Participants submit their budget documents to a panel of school financial professionals who review the materials for compliance with the MBA Criteria Checklist and other requirements and provide expert feedback that districts can use to improve their budget documents. Districts that meet the stringent program requirements may earn either the MBA or Pathway to the MBA (Pathway).
The MBA program provides school districts with tools and resources to develop a high-quality, easy-to-understand budget to share the district’s goals and objectives internally and with the community.
ASBO International was founded in 1910 and is a nonprofit organization that, through its members and affiliates, represents approximately 30,000 school business professionals worldwide.
