Welcome to Mrs. Scott's 6th Grade Advanced Science Page
About the Mrs. Scott
I am overwhelming excited to begin my 13th year teaching Earth Science here at McClure. I have been married to my amazing husband Calvin for almost 21 years, and we have 4 amazing sons and a granddaughter. Outside of school, I enjoy watching football, basketball, baseball and spending quality time with my family.
My primary focus this year is to teach you to become thinkers and problem solvers. I will not give you the answers you ask for, instead I will help guide your thinking so you can find the answer. We will celebrate each other's accomplishments and provide support and reassurance when there are shortfalls.
About the course
In this course we will discuss lab safety, measurement, astronomy, hydrology, meteorology, geology, and natural resources. Students will be held to high expectations in the following areas: behavior, work ethic, cooperation, collaboration, and helping build community within our classroom setting.
This year my tutoring time is Wednesday mornings @ 7:45; therefore, please have your parent email me at least 24 hours prior to let me know you wish to attend tutoring along with your specific area of need.
I encourage all parents to sign up for Canvas by following the directions found here (Canvas Parent Flyer). Canvas is the Learning Management System (LMS) used as the preferred electronic delivery and work management system for Paulding County Schools. When a teacher publishs their course, you will have access to observe your student's class, but only as an observer. You will need some information from your student (username and password) to link to their account.
You can find updated class information and resources (notes, presentations, web links, etc.) on my Canvas page: welcome-to-mrs-scotts-advanced-earth-science-page.
I am looking forward to a great year!
