Principal's Message

Welcome Hiram Students, Parents, and Community Members,

My name is Emily Black. I have the honor and privilege of being principal of Hiram Elementary School for the 2023-2024 school year. I have been an educator for 26 years and have served the Paulding County students and community for the last 17 years. This year will be my second year as principal. I also spent four years as the assistant principal at Hiram Elementary. My goal as principal is to provide leadership and support to our dedicated staff in serving our Hiram students and school community.

My husband and I have lived in Paulding County for 25 years. Two of our children graduated from Hiram High School and our youngest is a rising sophomore. Their foundation for a positive school experience was set in Paulding County elementary schools. I understand the importance of our children’s elementary years, which establishes their path for success. I want our students to leave their K-5 experience having grown academically, socially, and emotionally.  I am excited for the opportunity to connect with students, parents, and the community to support our efforts to recognize and celebrate diversity, provide inclusion for all students, and create a sense of belonging within our school.

Hiram Elementary sets high expectations and fosters a safe and engaging learning environment for all our students. I am confident that with your support, every child will be on a path towards success. I welcome your input as we collaborate to ensure a positive learning experience for our Hiram Hornets. Please feel free to reach out to discuss any concerns, suggestions, or ideas to make this the best school year yet. Thank you for your support and for being a part of the Hiram Hornet family.

Sincerely,

Emily Black
