  • Week of 4.23.17   Technology Needed in Class this Week!

The countdown continues! Can you believe you are about a month away from being a High School Student? Wow! This year went by so quickly.

Here's the agenda for this week:

Monday: I'll introduce the Decades Project and you'll have a decade randomly assigned to you.  After the introduction and decade assignment, you should work on your cover and 3 paragraph introduction to your decade.  **Formative Checkpoint #1 at the beginning of class on Wednesday! (Only completed work at the time of the checkpoint will be considered.  There will be no "make-ups" for checkpoints! Be sure to stay on task in class!)

Tuesday & Wednesday: Continue working on your project.  Once you finish the cover and introduction, start working on the timeline.  (Remember you need 3 events PER year. . . with a brief description of all  events and one image).

Thursday & Friday: Once you finish your timeline, start working on your Entertainment section.  Remember: These figures can be from any genre of entertainment: movies, books, sports, music, etc.  Follow the directions and rubric. ** Formative Checkpoint 2 at the beginning of class on Friday.  (Only completed work at the time of the checkpoint will be considered.  There will be no "make-ups" for checkpoints! Be sure to stay on task in class!)

Congratulations! You survived Milestones 2017! Please be aware that the majority of the rest of the year will be project-based! I will take formative grades for checkpoints along the way, but summative grades will be given for overall project grades!  Keep your eyes on the prize! High School is just "up the hill!"

Don't forget that your Milestones Review Packet is due at the beginning of class on Tuesday.  Tuesday, I'll also introduce your first end -of -the-year project before giving you time to get started in class.  The completed project is due on Friday! That means you'll need to be working diligently during the class time I give you!  (Bring earbuds if you want to listen to music while you work).  This project is an INDEPENDENT project! You will not have group members for this one.

Looking forward to seeing you and getting back to our "semi-normal" lives!

It's Milestones Time!  Unfortunately, due to the testing schedule, I will not see you until next Tuesday!  That means the rest is up to you!  I've given you the tools you need for a very thorough review of the year.  Below are the links to some helpful powerpoints, and on the previous post, I've given you copies of all of the summary sheets from the whole year! USE YOUR RESOURCES to complete the packets I gave you on Monday of this week.  (Don't wait until the last minute--use them to REVIEW!)

I do want you to complete BOTH packets; however, I will only be collecting the entire year review packet as a grade! Have it completed when you come to class next Tuesday, April 18th!

Most importantly, you have learned a TON of information this year!  Believe in yourself because I believe in you! You can do this, guys! Read the questions carefully, THINK about the answers (which makes sense and which doesn't?), RELAX, and be confident!

    YOU CAN DO THIS!!
