    Information from your teacher

Monday is going to be fun! The students have brought home a copy of their election speech

for you to help them look over and revise if needed. They choose to give a speech as though

they are running for the position of a mayor, governor, or the President.

They are welcome to type their speech. We will be giving our speeches and I will plan to video

them. Hopefully I can get it to load on my website on the Nebo Elementary site. *** Also check out the site for pictures of our Students of the Week!

    2nd Grade Noteworthy News

In Reading the students have come to an end of reading Fudge-A-Mania. Our new reading will be Magic School Bus Lost In The Solar System. We will be integrating our Science and Language Arts/Reading standards as we learn about our Sun, moon, and stars.

In the writing, students will continue working on narrative writing. They are writing daily in their writing journals, folders, and making their own books! Focusing on writing daily helps them to communicate effectively and become more proficient in their writing skills.

In Math the students continue their adding and subtracting skills using various strategies. Students are working on solving one-step word problems, two digit addition without regrouping, as well as compare two three digit numbers. We are also beginning a deeper focus interpreting data on bar graphs and pictographs.

    Information from your teacher

After bus dismissal, I realized that I didn’t pass out the progress reports. I gave out progress reports to the car riders and Learning Bridge students. The bus riders will receive theirs in their homework folders Tuesday.

Please remember to send your children with tennis shoes on PE days.
