Dr. Kristi Gammon

Dr. Kristi Gammon is Assistant Principal/Scheduler for Hiram High School. After graduating the University of Georgia with a major in French and minor in Japanese, Dr. Gammon was commissioned in the United States Army, serving as a Signal Corps officer on Active Duty for 3 years and in the Reserves for 5 years. To begin her family, she returned to her home in Cedartown, Georgia, where she substitute taught for a year before becoming the Migrant Education Coordinator for the school system. She subsequently taught high school English and French for 10 years before becoming Assistant Principal/Scheduler at Haralson County High School. In 2014, Dr. Gammon began teaching at Hiram High School and soon moved into administration. She earned her Doctorate in Educational Leadership from the University of Georgia in 2021.

As part of a recently blended family, Dr. Gammon has a wonderful husband Wright, who talks entirely too much—probably because he is an attorney. Their children are Lauren (32), Wayne (27), Kate (26), Winston (25), and Luci (17). Dr. Gammon is currently researching post-retirement career possibilities including writing, flying a mail plane, or becoming a private investigator.

The most important thing to know about Dr. Gammon is that she loves students, teachers, and counselors. Her goal is to help students understand the importance of education in their lives and support educators in their professional practice and evolution. She believes in HHS family and is dedicated to ensuring the continuation of family ideals in our school.
