          In MATH this week, we are going to finish working on our NBT3 standard. Specifically, we will be comparing two decimals to the thousandths place based on place value. In addition, students will be ordering 3-4 decimals from least to greatest using place value.
     
         In SCIENCE, students will begin a unit on PLANT and ANIMAL CELLS. Specifically, students will be developing a model to identify the parts of a plant cell (cell membrane, cell wall, cytoplasm, nucleus and chloroplasts) and an animal cell (cell membrane, cytoplasm, and nuclues), as well as explaining the differences between plant and animal cell structures. This week, students will finish creating and labeling their model of a plant or animal cell, as well as completing 3 centers in the science lab. Students will be looking at animal cells through a gret microscope and plant cells through a good microsope, as well as drawing and labeling a plant or animal cell.

    Please visit Ragsdale Elementary's Parent Resource Center! There are wonderful games and resources available for families to borrow. Kids can have fun practicing a variety of math and reading skills through play. The PRC has helpful resources and information, and a computer (with internet access) and printer available for parents. The PRC is open every school day, from 7:30AM to 3:30 PM, and is located in the main hallway in room B103.
