    Welcome to Mrs. Woliver's Page!

My name is Donna Woliver.  I am originally from Baton Rouge, Louisiana.  I taught mostly sixth grade math and science my ten years of teaching there.   I have been in Georgia for twenty years now.  This year I am excited to teach seventh grade math.  I have been teaching for twenty-nine years, with most of my career in sixth grade math.  Both of my parents are retired educators and I am married to a teacher.  My husband and older sister are also educators, so guess what my vacation conversations are all about.  Yes, school.  My husband and I have a daughter and two dogs.  I enjoy sports and cooking soul and cajun foods as well as sweets. I love to play with my dogs and walk them in my neighborhood.  One of my favorite pastimes, when I go back home to Louisiana, is fishing on the Bayou with my dad and eating way to much Cajun food.

These are the 7th Grade Regular Math Standards and 7th Grade Advanced Math Standards to review.  (Click on the standards to see the information.)  One of the best sites that I have found for study and practice is KhanAcademy.org.  It has videos, practice, and quizzes to help guide your student to mathematical success.  Youtube videos that are fun for students and very accurate to our standards are MashUpMath and MathAntics.   We write our Learning Targets, Warm Ups  and take notes in our composition notebooks almost daily.  The Warm Up assignments written in the Playbook are a great study guide for tests and quizzes.   Tuesdays and Wednesdays are our test/quiz days.  I hold tutoring in my classroom every Tuesday  morning from 7:45 to 8:15 (no appointment neccessary;  just come ready with questions or assignments that you need help with.).  I am very excited about working with you this year!
