My name is Josh Freedman. I was born and raised in Philadelphia, PA. My parents still live in the same house I was raised in. I love Philadelphia sports teams and watch every sporting event they are involved in. I also love all of the different foods from Philadelphia, especially cheesesteaks. I am happily married and have two daughters, two dogs, both boxers, and a cat. My wife Kim is the ELA coordinator for the Paulding County School System. My oldest daughter Emma will enter high school this year and my youngest daughter Ava will enter middle school. My hobbies are spending time with my family, playing sports of all kinds, and watching sports of all kinds (hockey is my favorite sport to play and watch).
My teaching career began in Dekalb County in January 2004. I taught second grade at Atherton Elementary school from January 2004 through May 2006. I transferred to Cobb County because I wanted to be closer to home. I started working at Russell Elementary School from August 2006 through May 2016. At Russell, I have taught fourth grade, fifth grade, and second grade. This is my fifth year teaching in Paulding County. My first three years in Paulding were spent teaching fifth grade at Poole Elementary. This is my second year as a STEM teacher. I currently teach STEM at two schools, Dallas, and Shelton Elementary. Teaching STEM is a passion of mine. I enjoy working with students of all ages and backgrounds. I currently hold a Specialist degree in Instructional Technology from Kennesaw State University, a Master’s degree in Educational Leadership from Kennesaw State University, and a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania.
