Dear Shelton Cub Families,Welcome back to the 2024-2025 school year at Shelton Elementary School. We hope you had a wonderful summer break filled with fun and are excited for the upcoming school year. As we get ready to embark on this exciting new adventure, we want to welcome our returning and new Cubs and their families.
At Shelton, it is our goal to create a nurturing, inclusive, and engaging environment where all students grow, learn, and reach their full potential. We believe that education is not limited to academics but also includes supporting the overall development of each student. Our dedicated teachers and staff are committed to providing a learning experience that encourages creativity, problem-solving, critical thinking, curiosity, and character-building each day.
Our staff theme this year is Ho’ohana, which is the Hawaiian term for purposeful and meaningful work. When you Ho’ohana, you are working with passion and full intention, which is how we will enter this school year. Our teachers and staff worked hard over the summer to engage in professional development opportunities and develop innovative and engaging lesson plans. We are so excited to meet and get to know our students. We also recognize the importance of parental involvement in our students’ education, and we encourage parents and guardians to participate in their child’s educational journey. Your support and collaboration are critical to creating a successful learning community, and you can get involved by joining PTA, volunteering at Shelton, joining All Pro Dads, joining Local School Council, or attending teacher conferences. As always, the health and safety of our students remains our top priority. We will continue to receive support from the Paulding County School District with safety personnel, including our Safety Advisor and Security Guard, and our Assistant Principal, Mr. Andy Davis, leads a safety committee at Shelton with various staff members to maintain the safety of our campus and keep safety a top priority. As we enter a new year, we want to emphasize the importance of open communication. We are here to support you and your child throughout the year, so please do not hesitate to reach out to us with questions, concerns, or suggestions. Together, we can make this school year the best yet!We look forward to a year filled with growth, learning, and opportunities as we work together to nurture, engage, and challenge our students. Thank you for entrusting us with your child’s education, and we are honored to be a part of his or her journey. Welcome to Shelton! Let’s make this year a HUGE success together.Sincerely,Mrs. Myers Moreland
