Roberts Elementary

This is my 23rd year teaching and my tenth year as a second grade teacher! My career began as a Chapter One Reading teacher in Maynardville,TN. I taught both first and second grades at McGarity Elementary before coming to Roberts in 2004. Here I have taught second and third grades, as well as in the Early Intervention Program. I am thrilled to be a second grade teacher once again! I am married to James (Sandy) Ransom. I have two daughters, one step daughter, one son-in-law, and a little dog named Belle!

I graduated from the University of Tennessee in Knoxville with a BS in Elementary Education in 1986. In 2002 I earned a MA in Early Childhood Education from Piedmont College and then in 2007 I earned an EdS in Curriculcum and Instruction from Piedmont College. I was honored to be Roberts Elementary's Teacher of the Year in 2008 (as Ms. Spencer).
