My name is Melissa Sims. I was born and raised in Smyrna, Georgia I graduated from Kennesaw State University with a Bachelor Degree in Business Administration, West Georgia University with a Master’s Degree in Special Education, and Piedmont College with a Specialist Degree in Early Childhood Education.
I have been married to my husband Mark for 30 years. We have three adult children, and family time is very important to me. Lauren, my oldest is married and just had our first grandchild, Ava. Ashley, my younger daughter, recently graduated from Kennesaw State University and is currently teaching in Paulding County. My youngest, Chandler, just graduated from North Paulding High School and is attending college at Georgia Highlands. Even though they are grown, we still travel and spend time together whenever possible. We also attend West Ridge Church, and we enjoy volunteering our time at the church and in the community. We have been so blessed and we enjoy giving back when we can.
I am proud to be entering my 23rd year as a teacher in Paulding County. I have taught 2nd grade as a classroom teacher for 10 years, and 12 years as a special education teacher. I am so fortunate to be a part of the Poole Elementary family. I hope to spend the remainder of my career right here as a Poole Trailblazer.
I am excited to get to be working with your child this year. It's going to be a great year! Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions, comments, or concerns.
