Planned Destruction of Records - Students With Disabilities

DESTRUCTION OF RECORDS

STUDENTS WITH DISABILITIES

The Paulding County School District announces its intention to destroy non-essential portions of records that were used in the provision of a free appropriate public education for students with disabilities in the Paulding County School District.  This notice follows the district’s comprehensive plan for special education required by IDEA.

Records of students with a disability who enrolled in a special education program and were born in 1998 are no longer needed for educational planning purposes.

The district plans to destroy these records after May 1, 2021, unless there has been a request for a due process hearing under IDEA or a complaint filed with the Office of Civil Rights, under section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973.

If you desire to have these records prior to destruction, please contact the Student Services Department at Studentservices@paulding.k12.ga.us  by April 30, 2021.
