On April 30, 2025, State Superintendent Richard Woods presented three Paulding County schools – East Paulding Middle School, Sammy McClure Middle School, and Paulding County High School – with Math Leader award banners. The schools were named Math Leaders in November 2024 by the Georgia Department of Education. According to the Georgia DOE, “Schools were recognized for achievement or growth in the percentage of students scoring at the Proficient Learner level or above in mathematics.” Superintendent Woods stopped by Paulding County High School to present Math Leader banners to representatives from all three schools.
