- Welcome to Coach Jacobson's Class!
-
My name is Bryan Jacobson and this is my 9th year in education. I currently teach Personal Fitness/Health courses at Paulding County HS and thoroughly enjoy teaching/talking about daily workouts or healthy habits with anyone that's willing to listen. I'm very passionate about mentoring and guiding our youth through their 4 year journey of high school! I really enjoy teaching students to think for themselves and not just take what someone says as the absolute truth. I wake up every mornning at 5 a.m. to CrossFit and currently hold a L1 trainer certificate through CrossFit Inc. I'm also a cerified USTA tennis instructor and pursuing my NSCC (National Strength and Conditioning Certification) as well.
Also, I coach a variety of sports with football and tennis being the main 2 I coach at Paulding County High School. My other passion in coaching football is assisting all my players with the recruiting process and helping them find a home after high school. Any opportunity for a student athlete to get their education paid for by means of playing a game, is a win in my book!!
Outside of school, I've been married to my lovely wife Leigh Anne for 10 years now and we have 2 amazing sons, Kellen (4) and Aiden (14 months). Sleep is a luxury not a necessity at this point in my life so coffee has become one of my best friends during this time. We live in Cobb County and try to enjoy the outdoors with both little guys as much as possible. We look forward to many trips to the park in the near future for sporting events with them!
My path to the education world is a little different than most as I graduated from KSU with a degree in Professional Sales. I tried out many different roles in corporate America from commission sales to retail management to marketing executive with all those paths leading me to still feel empty. One day, while coaching youth football I just decided a change was needed and the next day enrolled in a Masters program for education. Within 6 months of starting my program, I had landed my first teaching job at McEachern High School. Now I'm in my 3rd year at Paulding County HS and love every second of it.
