At Home: Encourage Bilingual Growth

  • Speak, read, and write in your home language and in English with your child.
  • Discuss family and community events in both languages to build vocabulary and confidence.
  • Share family stories and traditions; celebrate cultural holidays to show that all cultures have value.
  • Provide a quiet place and regular time for homework; ask to see books, assignments, and test results.
  • Remember—you are your child’s first teacher. Your encouragement helps them succeed every day.

For questions about these resources or help with next steps, please contact your school’s ESOL teacher or the Paulding County School District Teaching & Learning Department.
