myPerspectives Secondary 6-12 ELA Curriculum

Secondary English Language Arts (ELA)

The secondary English Language Arts (ELA) curriculum in Paulding County is implemented through myPerspectives, a comprehensive program designed to engage students in authentic reading and writing experiences that build literacy, critical thinking, and communication skills. Our goal is to ensure that every student has access to high-quality, standards-aligned instruction that fosters both academic growth and a lifelong appreciation for literature.

Grounded in research and best practices, myPerspectives emphasizes:

  • Diverse and rigorous texts that reflect multiple voices, cultures, and perspectives

  • Integration of reading, writing, speaking, and listening in meaningful, connected ways

  • Opportunities for collaboration, reflection, and inquiry-based learning

Throughout the year, students engage in a variety of formative and summative assessments, as well as authentic performance tasks that allow them to demonstrate their understanding and apply their learning in real-world contexts.

Through consistent use of myPerspectives across our middle and high schools, Paulding County students are empowered to become analytical readers, effective writers, and articulate communicators prepared for college, career, and beyond.
