The Georgia Kindergarten Inventory of Developing Skills (GKIDS) 2.0 provides teachers with ongoing formative information about kindergarten students’ developing skills. It also includes a summative component that serves as one indicator of readiness for first grade.

Beacon is a through-year, computer-adaptive formative assessment administered across multiple grade levels and courses. It measures student progress throughout the school year, helping educators target instruction and make informed instructional decisions. Beacon is aligned with Georgia’s content standards, adjusts to students’ skill levels, and is designed to minimize testing time.

ACCESS for ELLs measures the English language proficiency of students in kindergarten through 12th grade who have been identified as English learners. Alternate ACCESS is designed for English learners with significant cognitive disabilities who are unable to meaningfully participate in the standard ACCESS assessment.

The Georgia Alternate Assessment (GAA) 2.0 provides students with significant cognitive disabilities access to state-adopted content standards and an opportunity to demonstrate their knowledge and skills.

Georgia Milestones End-of-Grade (EOG) and End-of-Course (EOC) assessments measure how well students have mastered the knowledge and skills outlined in Georgia’s state-adopted content standards. These assessments are administered in designated grades and high school courses.

The National Assessment of Educational Progress (NAEP) is a congressionally mandated assessment administered in a variety of subjects to selected schools and grade levels. Results are reported nationally through The Nation’s Report Card.
