Post-Secondary Opportunities
Paulding County School District is committed to helping students prepare for success beyond high school. Through Advanced Placement courses and other post-secondary opportunities, students can experience college-level learning, strengthen academic readiness, and explore pathways that support their future goals.
Advanced Placement
Advanced Placement, commonly known as AP, gives high school students the opportunity to take college-level courses while still enrolled in high school. These courses are developed through College Board and are designed to provide academic challenge, deeper content knowledge, and preparation for future college coursework.
AP courses can help students build strong study habits, develop critical thinking skills, and demonstrate readiness for rigorous academic expectations. After completing an AP course, students may choose to take the corresponding AP exam. Depending on the student’s exam score and the college or university’s credit policy, students may be eligible to earn college credit.
College-Level Learning
AP courses allow students to engage with challenging content and expectations similar to those found in introductory college courses.
Academic Preparation
Students strengthen skills in reading, writing, problem solving, time management, and independent learning.
Potential College Credit
Students who take AP exams may qualify for college credit depending on their score and the policies of the college or university they attend.
