What an exciting opportunity to teach VENTURE at the BEST school in the county! Mrs. Studdard and I have been friends and co-teachers together for the last 10 years, and we look forward to our year together. I’ve been teaching in Paulding County for 14 years, and I’ve taught every elementary grade, as well as, 6th and 8th grade math. I have a Bachelor of Arts degree in Interdisciplinary Studies K-8th and a Masters in Curriculum and Instruction. I completed my Reading Endorsement, Gifted Endorsement, and Exceptional Students Certification. I have served on several county and school leadership and curriculum teams which I value. I value education at every level, and I hope to continue my education this fall to include my specialist degree. Knowledge has a beginning and no end!
My husband, Mark and I have been married for 25 years and have two wonderful children. Emma, my daughter, is a sophomore at Georgia Institute of Technology, and Will, my son was a 2020 graduate and will attend Georgia Southern University this fall. I enjoy boating, reading, tennis, and spending quality time outdoors with my family and friends. I love adventure! Since we are now empty nesters, my husband and I hope to travel more and look forward to the next chapter in our lives!
I understand that your child comes to me with unique experiences, interests and learning styles. My goal is to truly know your child well and use this knowledge to guide, support and motivate him or her. “What we want to see is the child in pursuit of knowledge and not knowledge in pursuit of the child.” ~ George Benard Shaw. I believe that good teaching requires continual professional development, personal reflection and collaboration. I value parent involvement at every level and encourage you to partner with me to help your child with valuable learning experiences. I am available anytime to answer questions and concerns. My e-mail address is below. I know this will be an amazing school year! I look forward to seeing you in the halls!
