Leon Bowers is the Cybersecurity Pathway Instructor for the Paulding College & Career Academy. This is his 18th year in education. He began his career as a Georgia Studies teacher at Armuchee Middle School in Floyd County, Georgia. After five years, he moved into the role of Engineering and Technology Instructor, teaching grades 6-8 while also serving as Lead Instructional Technology Educator for Armuchee and Pepperell Middle Schools. He served in that capacity for ten years teaching STEM, Computer Science, Engineering and Technology, and Business classes - including high school business classes.
Mr. Bowers is a graduate of Shorter University in Rome, Georgia where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree and a Master of Education degree in Curriculum and Instruction. While at Shorter he was inducted into the Academy of Aristeaus Honor Society and was a member of Pi Gamma Mu (the International Honor Society in Social Sciences). During his career, Mr. Bowers earned his Gifted Certification and Computer Science Endorsements from the Georgia Professional Standards Commission and continues to work with students daily.
Mr. Bowers is married to his wife, Jen. They have four beautiful children 18, 17, 13, & 12. They are very active in sports and their home church. In his spare time, Mr. Bowers enjoys spending time with family -- swimming, hiking, cooking, boating, gardening, and singing.
