My name is Ms. Dillard and I am incredibly excited to be joining P.B. Ritch’s 6th-grade team. Most of all, I am looking forward to being your child’s math teacher! I know that the transition from elementary to middle school can be overwhelming and students are experiencing a lot of changes, so I will try to do my best to make the transition as easy as possible. Please, reach out at any time during the year.
I want to take a moment to tell you a little about myself. I graduated from Kennesaw State University with a degree in Middle Grades Education with concentrations in Mathematics and Social Sciences. I love hiking and taking photos. This summer my boyfriend and I made a bucket list to try to cross off hiking at all the Georgia State Parks! We are still working on completing this list. So far, our favorite hikes have been Fort Mountian and Sweetwater Creek. I also am obsessed with sunsets, so my favorite time to hike is just before sunset. I am a big math nerd and you will see a few math canvases in my room that I painted, and I may be wearing a few math pun t-shirts during the year. My favorite color is blue, and my favorite place to eat is Chick-fil-A. Fun facts are that I taught swimming to all ages for four years, and also I do not like coffee... (I know, weird for a teacher)!
I look forward to teaching your students lots of new things and to overcoming this unprecedented year together as a team with you. I have high expectations for each of my students academically and behaviorally. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me at the school or through my email. My contact information is listed below.
Thanks! Looking forward to the 2020-2021 school year!
