I am so excited to be working with this amazing group of 6th graders this year!
A little about me......
Coming from a family of teachers (20 teachers and rising!) education is literally in my blood. I currently hold a Bachelors degree in Elementary Education as well as a Masters Degree in K-12 Reading. I began my career in education in my home state of Kentucky in 1999. I found my way to Georgia in 2004, where I met my husband and truly made this area my home. I taught in Rockdale County and Rome City before taking a break from teaching in 2006 in order to become a stay at home parent to my preemie daughter, Emma and later her brother Luke. I returned to teaching when Luke began school. When I am not teaching, I enjoy cheering on my Kentucky Wildcats during basketball season, having my heart broken by the Atlanta Braves, visiting the beach as often as humanly possible, collecting scrapbooking materials that I never get around to using, shopping, reading, teaching Sunday School at my church, being the crazy mom on the sidelines of my children's sporting events and most of all being a fulltime cook, maid, warden, laundress and chauffer to Luke (3rd grade at Allgood Elementary) and Emma (7th grade at South Paulding Middle School.)
I am looking forward to being part of your student's middle school journey. As a middle school parent, I understand that this is a big transition for both students and parents. Please feel free to reach out to me with any questions or concerns you may have. I can be reached through our Remind service or at pkennedy@paulding.k12.ga.us
