What is STEM?
STEM is a curriculum based on the idea of educating students in four specific disciplines - science, technology, engineering and mathematics - in an interdisciplinary and applied approach. Rather than teach these four disciplines as separate subjects, STEM integrates them into cohesive learning based on real-world applications.

P.B. Ritch Creates Makerspace, thanks to grant from Clorox
On October 30, 2017, P.B. Ritch Middle School held a grand opening for their new Makerspace.
Jumping Into STEMscopes
Paulding County has a new digital science resource for Kindergarten through 8th grade and high school Chemistry students at teachers: STEMscopes! From August 1st through October 9th, there were nearly 7,600 logins to the resource. Scopes (lessons) have been utilized by teachers over 37,000 times!
October's STEM Spotlight: South Paulding High School's STEM Club
There is also a group of students working on rockets to enter into the Team America Rocketry Challenge (TARC) this year! We cannot wait to see their prototypes!

Paulding County High School became the 11th Georgia high school to earn Georgia Department of Education STEM certification for its course offerings and curriculum. Paulding County High is home to the Academy of Science, Research and Medicine.
