    Welcome!

Welcome to 6th Grade!  We are going to have an amazing year.  Even in a "normal" year, the transition to middle school can be a little unsettling but I want you to put your fears to rest.  As part of the sixth grade family, we will overcome whatever this year holds because we will do it together.

    Better Together

We are going to have an amazing year of Reading, Writing, Researching, Creating, Producing, Presenting and Growing in ELA.   I am looking forward to getting to know each of you this year.  I suppose it is only fair that I begin by sharing a bit about myself.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                     All About the Teacher – Lori Dollar – Tomball Intermediate

If you have made it this far, you probably know that my name is Mrs. Kennedy.  I teach Advanced and Regular English Language Arts.  I have been teaching since 1999.  Yes, I am old. (Hint:  This is the part where YOU say, "But Mrs. Kennedy you look SO young!")  I took a break from teaching to work from home and care for my two children;  Emma who is in the 8th grade at South Paulding Middle School and Luke who will be going into the 4th grade at Poole Elementary.   This is my tenth year teaching and my fifth year teaching in Paulding County.  I have taught several levels/subjects from Pre-K through 6th grade and most things in between.  Sixth grade is by far my favorite.  I am so blessed to be a part of the sixth grade team here at Ritch Middle School. In my free time, I enjoy helping my husband (Jimmy) lead the youth programs at our church, cheering on my kids in their seven million different activities, following Braves baseball, watching my home state University of Kentucky Wildcats dominate in basketball, reading, writing and learning new things!    I am excited to learn more about you.  But first let's talk about what you will need to get started.  Listed below you will find the supplies that you need for our class.
