Eight of Paulding County’s schools beat the odds in 2016, performing better than statistically expected on the College and Career Ready Performance Index (CCRPI).
The CCRPI is Georgia’s statewide accountability system, which measures schools and school districts on a 100-point scale based on multiple indicators of performance.
The eight schools that beat the odds are:
Austin Middle School
Dobbins Middle School
Herschel Jones Middle School
Hiram Elementary School
Moses Middle School
Northside Elementary School
Russom Elementary School
South Paulding Middle School
The Beating the Odds analysis predicts a range within which a school’s CCRPI is statistically expected to fall, given the school’s size, grade cluster, student mobility and demographics. If the school’s actual CCRPI is above that predicted range, then the school beat the odds. Paulding County is a Strategic Waiver School System, which means it has requirements related to both CCRPI and the Beating the Odds analysis.
“We are pleased to see these 8 schools recognized for beating the odds,” said superintendent Cliff Cole. “The dedication of the teachers and staff is evident in the successes these schools are experiencing. I look forward to seeing more great things from all of Paulding County’s schools.”
This week’s release of the “Beating the Odds” report also included the state’s chronically failing schools. No Paulding County school was included on that list.
