Paulding County School Board Meetings Now Available to Watch Online, Livestreaming Coming Soon
Dallas, Ga. – The public can now use the internet to watch broadcasts of the Paulding County Board of Education meetings. At the August 9, 2016 meeting, board members discussed videotaping Board meetings. Following discussion and input, it was the consensus of the Board to pursue videotaping of the Board meetings, including the purchase of equipment required to do so.
"As elected officials, we believe it is our duty to be open and transparent with members of the Paulding County community,” said Kim Curl, Chairman of the Paulding County Board of Education. “Being the bedroom community that we are, we know our parents can't always attend our bimonthly school board meetings, but we feel it is important to provide them with all of the information and discussion that happens in the boardroom. By recording and livestreaming our meetings, the Board believes we are providing an outlet for parents to be involved and informed about the decisions that directly affect their students."
The meetings can be accessed by visiting the Paulding County School District’s website. Previously recorded Board of Education meetings will also be available on the site for 90 days, in accordance with record retention laws. The meetings can be found under the “Board of Education” dropdown menu on the school district’s website.
The Board of Education will also begin to livestream its meetings within the next few weeks.
The Paulding County Board of Education meets the second Tuesday of each month at 6:15pm and the fourth Tuesday of each month at 8:30am, with some exceptions. A complete list of board meetings can be found on the Paulding County School District website under the “Board of Education” dropdown menu.
